They come into my spinner mallard with bluebill dekes just fine. I wouldnt paint it unless all I hunted were divers, but I think it matters little.

I use a flag on the Atlantic....However, I saw a Tred Barta segment a couple months ago and he was using a few really neat "lawn ornament" spinners.....a couple on his boat andthen he had made a couple that had poles floated on innertubes........seemed to work ....but then again, seaducks come right in when just waving a hat!

Whatever you do, don't pee in your waders like Tred did when he went sea ducking.

If you see lots of bluebills, then I would paint it like a bluebill.

MY Man Tred

Now that Barta is a character. Reality TV it is. Wasn't too impressed by his concern for safety(or lack of for that matter). How do you go out sea duck hunting in that wind and cold....ALONE! Yea I know there was a camera man there, but what is he going to do if ole Tred does the half gainer into the long Island sound? Not real smart! Now that Tuna fishing.....Holy Nutz! He does know what he's doing! Great program, and I love his no holds barred attitude......He's not an uncle Ted Nugent, but definetly in the same ball park.

I don't use spinners, but I found Bartas method interesting. Now I wouldn't put the spinners on the boat, for in my opinion that would draw more attention to the boat and the hunter, but the method, of putting them on floating whatever seemed like a good idea.
