If you don't have a boat don't bother hunting divers. Stick to puddlers. Better yet, stay in school, spend every waking minute of the next two years studying. Please

set out the farm
bet the farm

to a true farmer. everything he has is put into his farm, money, sweat, love, family. There for the farm is everything I have.

when someone says bet the farm he means bet everything you have
set out the farm means put out every decoy you have.

If you are trying to pull the birds off a big raft, then a big spread means more.
If you are where the birds want to be (i.e. the "X"), then 1/2 doz will pull birds.
Just try to have most of your divers be black and white for contrast and visibility.
Save a Salmonid, shoot a sawbill
