what kind of areas and set ups for shore hunting divers?

Duck hunting for diver species like Canvasbacks, Redheads, Ringnecks, Eiders, Goldeneye and other diver ducks.

what kind of areas and set ups for shore hunting divers?

i wanna hunt some divers my buddy has a small johnboat that we cant set up on big water with so was thinkin if we could get on a point we could show off dekes to the birds on open water, just wonderin what kind of set up you guys would use, would be able to use the boat to set dekes and pick up birds, any help would be kool, thanks guys

Find out where the birds are going to and coming from, set up on those "runways". The more dekes the marrier, from shore we usually use J, U, V, X, W, or 2 big ol blobs placed out.Just make sure you got the wind right and be where the birds are going to be.

yeah we get them from the shore all the time... for the most part we dont do anything different except throw some bluebill dekes out... we use the blobs technique for the dekes :thumbsup:

Not on big water but we just through out two "blobs" and it works for us.
The group ended up with 420 birds.
