eh, a grand is probably a bit steep for a home made. Really depends on materials it was made out of, how it looks, and the condition its in. Id say there is easily 750-800 in supplies to build a two man home made boat.

Idk, i still fall back to the condition and how it looks to base price.

It's a Kalash. Be prepared to pay for it. No matter what shape it's in it can be repaired or back engineered to make a new one out of it. I have an old Waterfowl magazine which has an ad for the Kalash 2 man. The book is from 1976 and the price was 800.00 new. It's also a piece of waterfowling history so you have to factor that in. All that aside I build my own layouts and I can tell you the price of material;s have skyrocketed in recent years. I can't build one for less than 500.00 in materials for a single so you can use that as a guide.......

fair price on a kalash double man original

If it's in good condition pick it up! I have seen quite abit of kalash two mans sell for 800-1000. Kalash's are great boats and like already said they can be fixed. There are fewer and fewer kalash's anymore and most are holding on to them. John probably has stopped making them.

I believe he still makes them. He has new ones on Craigslist from time to time. Last time I saw he had new ones on there was last fall.
