Not sure I mixed stuff till I got a color I liked and then took it and had it color matched so it doesnt have a name, kinda close to a burnt umber

BUrnt sienna with a touch of raw umber makes a great color on drake head.

On a hen head I use a yellow ochre+ raw umber + a little burnt sienna. This is an older bird but that's the color.

This one a little more recent...maybe 2009...but I still use the same color.

My decoys are made of foam and burlapped. I believe that ringnecks decoys are cork bodies with wood heads.

Ok so when you say that they are "burlapped" I assume that you are covering them in burlap for texture and painting over it? Can you explain this process a little more?

Yes the burlapp give them more texture it also makes them rock solid. I put the burlap over them and coat them with a tile adhesive. Once its dry I comb lines into the back with gesso to give them more texture and to add vermiculations easier. Then they get painted and sealed with a sealant. Once thats done we attatch the keels and head.
