repurposing decoys

Postby capt1972 » Sun Nov 11, 2012 7:58 pm

So I have 6-8 black duck decoys that I want to repaint and turn into Old Squaws. My question is what should I use for the tail sprig? I figure I can urethane (like super silicone) the sprig to the deke just don't know what to use.

I think it might be a waster to worry about it. They just get banged up and if their close enough to see you should be able to shoot 'em.

If you really want em and want more durable than a zip tie, PVC can be easily cut and then shaped with a heat gun (blow dryer)... Get the schedule 80 and it will be grey...then you can paint it after some gentle sanding...never done it, but have worked with PVC in similar situations...
Quoted from my wife while I am tapping on my iPad, "Are you talking about ducks again?"
Me, "Yep".
