Wide open gravel bar

Postby loon » Sun Dec 02, 2012 12:00 pm

Despite holding still wearing a face mask and laying down with a boat cushion under my head my whistlers kept flaring at the last minute today just out of range . These guys have been shot at a bit so what worked a couple weeks ago isn't working now. I hunt on a 200yd gravel bar with no vegetation and rocks are mostly golf ball size . Digging a pit isn't an option due to frequent water level changes . Any ideas ? I have tried a brushed out layout blind with not much difference in results.

could you dig a hole just big enough to conceal your layout blind in? That has been a killer setup for me in the past.
When I die I hope its in a duck blind, that, or shot in the back climbing out of a jealous mans bedroom window.
