Postby shoreboys » Tue Jan 08, 2013 8:17 am

do you guys ever hunt off of the shore. were we will be hunting it is sand and butted up to a road and 1000's of acres of open marsh on the other side. we have not have much luck in the marsh and have been seeing big rafts of divers close to the shore.
so the plan is we have 5 doz sea duck decoys going to put those out 2 doz mallard decoys 6 goose decoys and mabey a mojo in mallard what do you think

95% of the Diver hunting I have ever done was on a sand beach. Any decoy with substantial amounts of white on it will do the job and make sure you are in a spot where the birds can easily see you from a good distance. Other than that, you should be good.

Wave a white trash bag around in the air until you get their attention.

This is the best advice I have ever gotten on diver hunting. Plus at the end of the day you can put all your empty hulls in them since you will get a lot more birds to play.
