Rigged out for sea ducks in NC today

Postby IrishEyes » Mon Oct 30, 2006 8:25 pm

Couldn't wait any longer to get out so I rigged out in the Neuse River today. Almost 80 degrees and 3 kt winds didn't look promising. Never saw a duck all day. In NY the season opens way before any birds are around so I guess it is the same in NC but the season has been open for almost a month.
Maybe I'll have more luck closer to the ocean so I'll trailer down to Bogue Sound in a day or two. Anyone have a handle for when the seaducks arrive in this area? Just moved to NC and can't find anyone who hunts ducks here, at least not divers.

Well - I'm not on the east coast, but over here on the west coast, up in SE Alaska the divers have just started showing up. Not quite in full force yet..
