Diver #'s on Chesapeake

Postby david21658 » Tue Nov 21, 2006 6:25 am

I haven't been out lately to check on the Diver migration. Was wondering if any diver #'s are increaseing on the Chesapeake and it's tributaries.

I was out on the Bay just south of Saxis, Va. today and saw several groups of 200-300 birds moving around out on the big water. They were too far away for a positive I.D. but they were definately divers....

I crossed the Bay Bridge at Annapolis yesterday. Very windy---they closed the bridge to highprofile veh's an hour after we passed.

I saw one group of approx 100 ducks in the air, fighting the wind and looking for a calm place to sit.

Didn't see any others.

Easternshore: I don't understand. Why couldn't you shoot them on the Eastern Shore? Both sides are Maryland.

Does the C-Peke have some type of specific regs? I've never hunted there.

i couldnt shoot them because i was only in the sea duck zone(eastern bay). the offshore zone where you can hunt any waterfowl is only the main body of the bay.
