Mature redhead

Postby stealfeathers » Thu Nov 14, 2013 8:44 pm

I'm talking about the duck!! Not a female!! :lol3:

I would like somebody to explain to me what the characteristics of a mature redhead versus a less mature redhead are. The drake. I'm not necessarily talking about plumage. I shot 2 today and want to make a good decision on which one to mount.

I personally think on is prettier, due to the black around the base of the neck is alot darker. But, the other one had a little brown mixed in with the black. I will post a pic but it will cut off the right side of the pic

Just judging on size those both appear to be mature birds the one on top has probably just not quite finished getting its plumage yet.

The bottom one is the best of the two. You want a lot of black on the neck and a big head.
