Decoy spread ???

Postby Duckbusterkerr21 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 9:17 pm

Me and my buddy are planning on hunting a bigger lake with a good number of divers. But I usually hunt puddle ducks.so all I have are 2 doz mallard decoys and 6 over sized red head decoys so how would I set up my spread to make it more appealing to divers but also draw in a few passing puddlers. I will also be hunting from shore.

Set up your mallards like you normally would and set your redheads off to one side and you should be fine. I've killed tons of divers over an all puddler spread. Obviously all divers will have better draw, but you should do fine. If you can get out on a point they are cruising past and set up there.
