today my friend and i shot, 2 drake bills, 1 drake golden, 1 drake buffie, 1 hen oldsquaw, and 2 hen goldens. we could of limited on buffies and killed anther golden but there were a ton of hen goldens and almost no drakes. the oldsquaw surprised the crap out of us.

nothing more fun than gunning divers. You may have been seeing lots of immature drake goldeneye. There seems to be a ton of immature birds this year. They don't get full color their first year, so groups tend to seem hen heavy. I saw a group of 30 on the river a couple of days ago that had only 2 mature drakes, and a mix of about 50% hens and 50% immature drakes with the rest of the group.
