Postby stumpjumper1590 » Tue Jan 21, 2014 7:02 pm

We'll my dad always said that I have a Golden Horseshoe up my arse and I'm starting to believe him.
Today was the last hunt of my 2013-2014 season and although there wasn't quantity there was some awesome quality!!

This is my second band, and my second season water fowling. First one was off a common golden eye.

That's the best shape I've ever seen a Redhead band in. Usually they're all worn down from the saltwater. How old?

Somehow I already got the band report back last night in a email. He was banded August 19th 2013 and was harvested on January 19th 2014. The report says he was hatched in 2012 or earlier.

The band was in perfect condition. He defiantly had the best "bling" around, almost chrome.

We'll thank you! Even though they mis-spelled it, and I didn't even notice until you said something.

i shot my first banded bird 3 weeks ago. just so happens it was a hen redhead. banded in carson lake nev. 2010. i happened to have my daughter on facetime when it all went down. took the phone out for the retrieve and BAM it's a banded bird. she saw the whole thing live. it was pretty sic. 1st. band with a witness on the phone. needless to say that made the whole season. congratulations on your band. good duckn

its insane you have shot two banded divers as your first two banded birds.

a goldeneye to boot..... that is very rare...then you get a drake redhead.....i have shot over a 1000 divers... and no bands

but I have over 60 birds with bands.......

id love to shoot a nice drake diver with a band....can or redhead even a golden eye.....that would be a super trophy

We'll he is already at the taxidermist along with my first canvasback that I just so happen to pick out and shoot out of a group of redheads. The canvasback is flying back out with his feet stuck out a little like he is getting ready to land, the redhead will be belly out flying right behind him so the band is on your face.
