Flaggin ducks?

Postby chrispbrown27 » Sat Aug 27, 2005 12:05 pm

Anyone try it? I know that sea duck hunters use it sometimes and was thinkin that maybe you'd be able to pull some divers your way by flaggin a bit. Any input?

Sometimes it does sometimes it dont. But dont over do it, when you get there attention, Stop! Black flag seems to work best, or a smaller version of the goose flag.

Used to do it for 'bills a long, long time ago, seemed to work somewhat laying out. Quit after the Police were called about some poor drowning duck hunter and his friends that wouldn't help, no joke. Eventually the police in the rescue boat did get a chuckle out of it, it was a different era. ~ Believe they were around 2'x2' on 3' pole, black with a grey band 3" or 4" wide 2/3 the way down.

That reminds me, I've got a buddy who hunts a field by a major highway and he gets all kinds of people stopping and waving at him when he works the flag. Drives him nuts. He even had one guy walk all the way across the muddy field to ask him what he was doing! No police calls yet.
