I'm new to this. Is there a certain way to set up your layout boat? How should I set my blocks? Thanks for the help...

Are you using the layout for open water hunting as in Lake Erie? or using the boat in a flooded field or shallow marsh?
Are you running main lines or singles? How many blocks?
A ton of lead anchors

I wouldn't recomend single string decoys for this long lining is the only way to go deep or shallow especially if you have a decent size spread.I attached a spool to my boat and use znapz on my decoys ussualy I put all my decoys on 1 line with many anchors and zig zag them back and fourth unless she wind is screaming then it makes it difficult to lay them going into the wind so you lay them goin wiyh the wind or curent , I usually park the boat at the up wind side of the decoys wich apear to be in a cluster and on the down wind side I creat a hook this seems to work pretty well.
