Hello fellas. Im hunting down your way this weekend. Not a internet scout post just curious of anything to do in the pocohantas area. Hunting with a guide so looking for some stuff to do after the hunts. Any refuges close by to check out or fine eating establishments. Thanks guys and good luck the rest of the season

Don't be jaded, bro. Hate that it sucked fer ya. Bad timing, I suppose. My blind has pulled 147 on the last 4 hunts. No time for books.

I just re-added, and the above was a lie. Since New Year's, we've hunted 6 times. Totals were 30, 29, 36, 36, 36, & 20, so it was 187 in 6 hunts -- 128 on the last 4. Either way, we've averaged about 5.6 ducks per day per hunter since Jan. 1. It ain't been half bad.

We will be heading down for a late season hunt...leaving after work on Jan 17th, hunting 18 - 21st. We are staying in Jonesboro with a guide, but haven't been down there before. I guess we will be mixing it up between flooded rice fields and green timber. All I want is a nice bull pintail for the wall. What are the majority of the ducks you are killing down there? Looks like you are getting into the pinny's and teal...I would imagine that you are getting spoonies, gads, mallards, and woodies too...any ring necks or redheads....black ducks?? Just curious to what we will be seeing...anything that we don't get up north? Grey's, mottled, or any of the tree ducks, or are those farther south?
It should also be noted, that we are taking two youth with us...they caught the waterfowl bug last year, and they are hooked. Each of them hunted in 3 states so far this year, with AR being the 4th!

He was asking about entertainment in Pocohantas, not hunting. The only fine dining I've found is on my grill.
