New boating REG'S

Postby greenster » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:20 pm

New bating regulations have been proposed Here is the official from G&F

'"the proposed regulation is designed to address unsafe boating issues during waterfowl season by assessing points for boating violations. Major problem areas on WMAs would be marked with warning signs. "

It also seem's that areas of the boat race WMA's will also have a no wake zone.

Thoughts and comments?

30+ mph racing through flooded timber in the dark. The G&F is doing these crazies a favor. Say thank you, stupid people. The G&F is saving your life. :lol3:

agfc can make as many new rules as they want, but with no one there to enforce them then whats the difference? called them on several occasions letting them know that the 4am rule wasnt being followed.. the response from them, "hmm thats interesting.."
asked agfc about turning boaters in to them about the 4am rule, their response "well if a gw didnt actually see it then theres not much we can do" huh.. so does it turn into public justice?
i dont know who you are or where you're going, but its a race to get there!

Public Justice involving a bunch of dudes running on hardly any sleep, with shotguns...they can leave early all they want.

Which brings us back to the boat races!
I am not for or against the boat races. If some kids want to get out there and show their asses, let them. The guys that don't want to participate, leave at 4:01. To me it comes down more control, someone always trying to control us and I am against that.

Party barge at front of line should slow it down a bit.

Agreed, show up at 401 and the races are over Haha. Think it'd make much of a difference if they let the walk-in hunters go in an hour earlier? You'd still have a foot race but id figure tripping and falling wouldn't be as bad as getting smacked by aluminum at 35+ mph.

When we hunt the public timber it is not about being fast. It's knowing the boat run. we pass many boats each morning because most don't know where the deep water of the run is.

Having ran the race myself I gotta say it is not as bad as some IMAGINE it is.
Lower Vallier. Go on a weekday and its like "what race"?
Weekends. might want to hang back a ways.

Its a "feel-good" law and very hard to enforce.
