Arkansas Duck Hunting

Postby RedRiverDuck17 » Wed Oct 02, 2013 5:29 pm

I have recently moved to Conway Arkansas and not familiar with the area. I have always heard how great the hunting is in Stuttgart, AR so I called up the game warden there to ask about public hunting spots and it seems you need a boat in all public spots (wish I had a boat).Ive always been a walk-in hunter and Id like to stay close to Conway AR if i can find a public spot here. Anyone know of some public spots in my area? Any help would be great to help out a duck deprived hunter ha. Thanks yall

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

But the GW is incorrect.. Boat's are not required but will open many more areas up and be a little more easy.

I have been accused of not being helpful so I'm going to help this guy out.
Red river duck you can walk in to Government Cypress.
Google that. Be aware that Arkansas folks are going to bite my face off for telling you this small bit of very specific information.
Just "helping".
This thread just went "BOOM".

Government Cypress was the first that came to mind. Try Bayou Meto too, it down the road from Government Cypress, a least the part I hunted. Most of it is flooded timber.
Hunt with your kids today, and you want have to hunt for them tomorrow.

You can walk in to Buckingham Flats as well. Really there's a lot of places you can walk in, but you will get toasted to spots by people with a boat just about everywhere but govt cypress and Buckingham, on busy mornings expect people on mountain bikes [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]
