I'm getting anxious for tomorrow, haven't scouted the spot I'm planning on hunting for a couple weeks but it is a known producer. Still hate going in blind. I'm concerned about the moon and the roller coaster temps we've had the past week.

Received a mallard machine for christmas so it will get baptized tomorrow, any one have any experience with one of them? Heard some good reviews but as far as placement goes I'm clueless.

Some of my hunting partners have a bad habit of fidgeting around while birds are working and this contraption only has a 50' cord. I'm concerned that having that running so close to where we are sitting may give away their ill timed movements. I need to put a shock collar on a couple of em and do like I do to my pup, Sit! ZAP.

Put the mallard machine together with your mojo. Ducks will light on it.

By locating it close, you get ducks CLOSE.
If your buddies fidget and flare birds, shoot one, and the others will learn to sit still.

Yeah. Honestly, she killed everything that day. My 10- year old just can't seem to get it together.

That was a mammoth grey duck. A DHC member from N.C. that goes by "duckasaurus" came and hunted with me on Monday and he or his buddy smoked that gadwall.

Believe it or not, that was the first trip I've been able to take the girls on this season, and I checked em out of school to make that happen. When the weather has been good (which hasn't been often) their schedules have been bad. My oldest racked up pretty good that day. My youngest, on the other hand . . . well, she did a lot of shooting.

I'm pretty mad at em. This is, by a good stretch, the worst season we've seen in decades on the farm. Ice, floods, and we'll-timed full moons have gotten the best of us. We typically kill 650-1,000 each season between an average of four hunters shooting one blind. This year, if we get to 500 I'll call it a win. She's been a rough one, and I've hunted less this season than any I can remember.

Honda Pioneer 700-4. Right now I'm overly biased - but my hunting partners and I are freaked out over it's performance. Only had it 3 weeks, but that's nearly every day from breaking 3" ice to running it through water like an Argo - water line bottom of seat (air intake). 2WD, 4WD, or 4WD Diff Lock. Answer - excellent in fields. So far only 1 flat and broke a piece of fender - busting ice. I'm definitely testing it! lol
