How many days have you hunted, how many ducks & geese?
I've hunted a whopping 3 days for 6 ducks & 1 speck. 2.33 avg. Planning to make up lost time starting 1st of Dec. Lets all be honest here.

A real interesting season so far. Hurt my avg terribly on the first weekend when I screwed up my eye and lost both days. It put my son way out in front.("Come on" a decent Wed when he's handicapped with school LOL). 7 hunts, 2 no shots fired days. 11 ducks, 0 geese. Limited on Sprig all but 1 hunt. A partners dog picked up a crip choco on the way in one day and he already had his bird. My son has dipped into the geese and more than doubled my birds with a few extra hunts.
We've always been those Mallard / Sprig purists you hear about til this year. Every year we'd say we were gonna take just plain ole ducks and we'd never follow thru. Sure is different and a lot more fun LOL!

Been havin a little tough luck getting in the marsh lately but I'm up on quality and down on total numbers obviously...

Lots of big Gads...more mallards than last year...but no greenwings to speak of.

I'd say all that spring rain helped us.

This season has been really good for me so far. I have a 4.46 duck average with most of them mallards. Only shot 4 geese, 2 honkers, 1 speck and a cackler. I am on pace to break my 2001 bird total. :salude: I have only been shut out once and that was due to the heavy fog. I would tell you how many ducks but I'm sure some people wouldn't believe me but let just say I have ate a lot of duck this year. Getting ready for a big Simon's dinner! Yummy!!!

But I have put a lot of time in the field and a trip up to lower klamath doesn't hurt either!

Hopefully I'll add some honkers to the list tomorrow!

Looks like most people are having a good year aswell. Its only going to get better.

I've just hunted the opener and one scouting trip on a bluebird sunday afternoon. I figure that I put in my time all those years in the club hunting every weekend. Now I am trying to hold out for the birds to start coming down. The rezzis are plugged up starting the first weekend in
December. But we had better start getting some duck weather soon!!!!!!
Shoot Straight!!!

Birds are starting to move in up here. Hunted 14 days so far for 40 birds, all on public land. Now if we can only get some weather.
The ducks are right there. Where? Right there. Where? OHHHH they're right there.

I think the ducks will be better off flying straight.

1 greenhead and 1 drake cinnamon teal on the opener at Sac.
1 zero day at Yolo bypass.
1 Hen widgeon at Sac.
2 Gadwall at Delevan

that's it so far. I need to go to the skeet range. I practiced my calling all summer, and didn't shoot at all. so I've been missing a lot of birds.
