TURKEYDAY DUCK HUNT

Postby #1wingnut » Thu Nov 24, 2005 5:36 pm

My Son, Brother and I went out to the rice blind this find thanksgiving day
not many birds flying but we had a great time vistiting and watching the sun come up. we did miss a couple of mallards early. bro said I jumped
too early  and I think he's right, Dang it!, I hate when that happens
I prolly should have let them make 1 more pass. Oh well
we did coax 6 sprig in and took 2 bulls from the group
That with the nice sunrise makes it all worth it

go ahead fire away on the girly pic, I just could'nt resist
at least I included bird pics this time

Glad you guys had a nice holiday hunt. Just being out there, especially when your kid and family are with you, is 90% of the fun. As for the pic - looks ok by me

Ya, I went out again this am with my brother and got drenched.
still not many birds at our pond. They were doing alot of shooting
to the south and east of us. we did manage to get our sprig and 1 spec.
did'nt take any pics, it was raining too hard to take out the camera
forcast is for less rain tomorrow wind 20 - 30 mph. I bet the refuges are going to knock the snott out of em.

If thats the forcast, I'm going! Atleast you got out today!

Oh and I got drawn for Twichell Island on December 3. Any recommendations on where to hunt there for pheasants? Hopefully I do as well as your son.

Pentax Optio 33WR (WR=Water Resistant)
It`s not completly waterproof but it can survive a rainy day or a drop in the drink
Glad you guys had fun we had a slow shoot Turkey day but made up for it the other days except I got sick and missed Friday.
I call it the annual black sheep hunt because even though we usually make it back in time for dinner the women still give us the "evil eye" for going hunting on thanksgiving
