Are you feeling like this season is flying by? We have only been hunting for 36 days. We still have 63 more. We are not even half way. If you only hunt weekends you could have hunted 6 times. You still have 10 more. The weather is just starting and most of the hunters, Guides and clubs are posting better numbers than this time last year. Be sure of one thing, there are hundreds of thousands of ducks in our state right now and more are on their way. Just try to get out and hunt. Hunt all day and often. You will have success if you keep trying. Take someone out for the first time. :salude: You may even get a bigger kick out of sharing the sport we all love.

Yessir, it definitely seems like it is flying by here.......glad to see the numbers you posted (days). I got out today and shot like absolute crap! First duck was a pair of mallards. I raise up on the drake and fire...nothing! I am thinking okay, lead him a bit more. Fire, and think, okay...lead him a bit more...nothing. Same thing happened on another green head a little later in the morning for 3 shots. Next bird was a widgeon that responded very well to the mallard call and dropped him with one shot (a crip at that!). Next 2 teal come zippin' by and 3 shots and nothing. After every shot I kept thinking...okay, you can drop now.

Anyhoo...a decent shot would have had 4-5 birds. A good shot would have doubled on both the mallards and the teal. Ohh well...at least I got to shoot the bang stick.........

Remember over 10 years ago when we had a 59 day split season with a 4 bird limit? We should be definitely blessed with our 100 day season & liberal bag limit. Good luck all to the rest of the season.
