I'd say it was a success...

Final head count was 10 people. It was unfortunate not everyone could make it, I think we had enough food for a small army.

Let's see if I can wing this...The people that showed up:

Josh
Brandon (DuckStopsHere)
Gary (Stalns)
Josh (AceBuilders)
Jon (SprayandPray)
Dara (12gaugegirl)
Dan (#1Wingnut)
Me

We snapped a few pics, but not sure when they'll make it up. Josh (ace) is leaving early in the am on a trip to get his pup, and Gary....well...Gary's old :tounge:

All in all a good day. Always nice to be able to meet fellow hunters, and it helps to put a face to everyone's name. Everybody there was top-notch. The three new people I met were great guys to boot. It is really cool how 10 strangers can get together and get a long so well.

On a side note, when Brandon and Josh showed up they introduced themselves as Brandon and Josh (duhh, that is how I typically introduce myself). I sat there kind thinking...okay, who the hell are you? I needed their call name to figure out who they were. Anyhoo, it wont happen again guys.

A special thanks to all of the "Bay area boys" for driving out to the Valley to BBQ!

Sorry it took so long Jeff, I had to take a nap.. :toofunny:

It was great to meet you all!!!

I agree, it was cool to bring together this group and get along so good. Reminds me of the old duck club days. I'd be honored to shoot with all of you.
But Dan, you couldn't bring the warden with you if we shot together!!

P.S.
Rel, thanks for the bribe money. I think the warden would have written us up if we didn't have it.

Three bands and looks like we found a hell of a spot to shoot ducks this season!

Thanks to everyone that sent something that could not make it--it was truly appreciated!

Dang it! I knew I should have gone...

Pulled out the back and was laid up Friday and Sat. Up until the wife kicked me off the living room floor (the only place comfortable) on Saturday afternoon.

Sounds like you guys had a great time!

Curious what the warden was warning ya'll about?

I used to pheasant hunt there back in the 80's.....glad to see the place looks fairly clean. Some of the other white slough ponds have become garbage dumps.

Yeah I can't believe how many mallards were going into that pond yesterday evening. Just wish the season was open, we would of had a great shoot.

I'm glad you all had a good time and did not cause too much trouble with the LE there. :salude:

Good to see the ladies participating. Encourage them to join up here at DHC so they can participate in the Womens and other forums. Which is Jeff's GF, the Redhead or Brunette?

Where is the biggest fish picture?

The red head's a bit young...and I think Gary may have a problem with it ;)

The burnette is my roommate, Dara. She's new to all of the hunting but she got her first goose and duck this season; a drake wigeon and a HOG snow goose.

As for the Big fish picture...you know...it was the damndest thing! The camera quit working, but "I swear it was THIS BIG!"

Thanks for checking in on us Admin 2...what says you make it out next time?

I hope I did not offend Gary, her back is to the camera, so no idea how old she is.

So is Dara your GF or a bona fide friend that only shares the house expenses?

If I win Lotto, I'll be there next year. Meantime family obligations takes precedance.

It sounds like they were shooting clays in an area where you can hunt, but are not allowed to target shoot.

That's it! You can hunt there, catch 7 stripers down the road at the river, and drive drunk on the roads...but shooting targets responsibly and picking up all of your trash (plus some) is strictly forbidden!

Come to think of it, I never saw it posted, "NO SHOOTING"

dang it
wth
the whitefronts kept me up all nite which made me think of you all but I found out too late you went and had a get together w/out me

Sorry I missed it

Did you say stripers???????? I messed around with a floating rapala last year while we were shad fishing. They go OFF in the shallows at night but I didn`t do any good. There`s always some guys fishing the top of the run early in the shad season and we pick up a few dinks (18-24") by accident every year. I`d love to get down there and target the big ones some day.

In four weeks I have a week off I`ll be camped @ rd. 48 after I get back from the coast if it`s not closed off, every year we never know if we will be able to access the gravelbar because of the slobs who trash the place.
Anyways, anyone who wants to come fish w/the shadmaster come on out.

Glad you had a good time, looks like I`ll have to hang out more

Don`t you love those areas, there`s 3 I can think of offhand close by where we used to go, all blm land
where there was a cool spot to go shoot now there`s a full on parking lot with a kiosk with maps and junk
all say NO TARGET SHOOTING-NO OFF ROAD VEHICLES
progress........... :pissed:
