SAN JACINTO wildlife refuge

Postby Gmas101 » Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:08 am

The start to the season started off really good. The average bird per hunter went from 4.5 to 0.5 we need some weather to bring the birds down south. Has any one else been hunting in sj?

I had a ressi last Wednesday. There were 3 of us and we got a bird each. We spend the whole day just sitting around.

It has been tough out there the last 2 weeks. Suprised how many people continue to show up to hunt it each hunt day with the bird averages down so low.place has been a zoo since the opener.

How is sj shooting today? Anyone head out? I was unable to make it . Wondering if the weather pushed the birds down.

Was it a handicap blind

Are there blinds there or do you have to bring your own. I have never hunted there and didn't know what they had

They have blinds. Most are hog wire brushed up, a few natural cover, a few pit blinds. You are assigned a blind and have to hunt that blind. Here's a good source for info on SJ...
