Nice work. Must be one happy client to shoot a limit of birds and get a band. I'm not an expert on bands, but I've never seen a post with a banded bird that old.

I have seen banded birds that went into the teens especially honkers having older bands.

I shot a banded Honker at Yolo about 8or9 years ago that was banded in southern cal 12 years prior, could barely make out the numbers and was worn thin........I couldn't believe how old that bird was!
Take a kid hunting, the memories will last a lifetime.

Good stuff. I shot my first snow goose last season and got my first band with it. It was hatched 1999 or earlier and banded in 2000 in banks Island Canada.

Have you seen the record in bands. I think it was a mallard at 29 years old. Don't quote me in the species it was in a du mag last year.

Good job. Looks like you guys have had some good shoots this year. Bands are always a nice bonus. My bro shot a banded speck quite a few yrs back but it had been banded 14 yrs prior in Alaska
I hunt cause I love going deep into the bush and I always shoot twice!
