Wister Species

Postby HungryBirdwatcher » Wed Nov 27, 2013 7:36 pm

Have res for first time at Wister in early December. I gather from what I have seen about past years that there will probably be pintail, various teal, shovelers, wigeon, but snow geese probably won't be there in large numbers yet. I'm wondering if I should shell out $ for snow decoys. Any advice from regulars or someone who's been there in the last couple of weeks (late Nov 2013)?

take 20 shells with you. The geese have made it that far already

Bring a tent and sleep in the parking lot.... either that or sleep in the truck.

It's what I always do.

That high rez number may get you a good blind. Hunted San Jacinto last Saturday and out of the top 10 only 4 showed up. #2 and #3 were both no shows.
