Ok rice hunters i need some advice, I have 160 duck decoys, 4 Honker decoys, but no specks in my spread. There are a lot of specks in my area now, will i be wasting my time using my speck call?

depends on the weather. I have no goose decoys out this year and I have called in a couple dozen specks and a couple snows this so far. all on windy overcast days. they won't even look down on a clear day.

It has been said that a young Speck can be decoyed into a Volkswagon in a Pea field.

Maybe things have changed since that statement was made back in the day.
Haven't had the chance to hunt Specks for over 33 years at Tulie Lake (In 'The Corner) for those of you who might know what that means.
Decoyed 'em in to Honker decoys just fine back then, calling by mouth.

It's been nothing but 6-10 pound Honkers for me since then. I'm not crying about it, mind ya.
For ducks, we have to make do with Green wings, Cinnamons, Bluewings, Wideons, Red Heads, with a predominance of Gadwalls and Mallards early.
Nothing but Mallards now.
It's a low down, dirty job, but somebody's got to do it!
So the words Fall and Autumn are not to be capitalized?
They are in my world.

We have about 18 speck decoys in our duck spread, not great goose callers, but ok, never have much luck in normal weather except for singles and pairs?? I do know guys that are doing something better cause they have better luck getting them than I??
