Where you guys getting your shoulder or cushion? Thinking of jetting to Costco and picking some up.

Nothing but ribs on sale around here so maybe that's a better idea.
All this for a bowl of borscht.

I'm putting a Brisket on tomorrow night for Sunday's big game. At least that's my plan. Got my brisket at Smart and Final. Only place locally I've found untrimmed brisket. Buy my shoulder and Ribs there too. Usually try to catch it on sale, and freeze for later.

If you are going to Costco, don't expect much. They get their meat deliveries on Tuesdays and with the Super Bowl on Sunday I'd bet there's little left in the coolers. But I might be wrong.

Ended up doing pulled pork in the oven. Got outside and it was raining and so windy that I couldn't keep the temps up. Still have about 7lbs to run through the smoker. Will probably run that tomorrow if the weather is amenable.

My Brisket went through the smoker just fine. 17 hours. But, I didn't wrap it in foil soon enough and the bottom portion got a little dried out and tough. Fortunately with the whole untrimmed deal there was plenty of good meat to enjoy. Of course, 13 lbs of brisket for 2 was a little much. But I have to admit, it is nice having BBQ for lunch.

Now onto real smoke. Need to stock up on good cigars for clays season. I'm thinking a box of Rocky Patel's might be on order soon.

Or maybe a box of these, just for the moochers:
