Re Painting Wigeon and Gadwal

As the season draws closer the time has come to repaint, I have a lot of old mallard decoys and want to re paint some as Wigeon and Gadwal, and pointers on colors technique, Spray paint over hand paint Which colors work best.. :help:

Going to be hunting the Gustine area at a club and wondering if wigeon and gadwal teal an mallard mix are the best bet as well... If all else fails I will just paint all my decoys black and just have a pond of coots.

Here's a hint ! If you're hunting the DEGUSTINE area , it's ether white bellied or brown bellied birds you'll encounter so ,
brown on top white on the bottom for all your decoys will be just fine !

OH ! I almost forgot , take a hammer and pound the bill as wide as you can , this will attract the most prominent bird
there ! :lol3:

I was just kidding about the painting , the more life-like your decoys are , the better response you'll have seeing them
close-in ! The shooting straight part , is where most fellas try to paint a different picture.......practice shooting so your
paint job works better .

Thank all of you for the advice, I will have coots spoonys and ruddy decoys but I will flock them like there is no tomorrow I will have the most realistic looking coots in the club and if you see some on with 70 flocked spoonys and coots come say hi!

Flocking was a good idea! And spoonys never hurt
