Tennessee Hunter In Need of Assistance

No, not a scouting, give-me-your-GPS-coordinates-to-your-honey-hole troll...

My wife and I plus her grandparents are coming to your neck of the woods for a week or so during late March. We're flying and g'ps are driving to meet us in Denver (They're not locals, just don't fly anymore). The plan is to hop in with them in Denver and see as many sights as we can for the 7-10 days we're there then fly home. We don't have to depart from Denver, just the nearest airport at that part of the trip. Now for the request of advice...

March 21-Feb 1 is our time frame.
I'm looking for some outdoorsy, conservationy, hunting/fishing, beautiful state parkish, fly fishing streamy, upland and/or big gamish, kayaking/rafting type of activities/sites to see/use. What may seem as 'normal' to you may make the trip for a mid-20s middle tennessean. Please fire away with ideas. We will have no children with us and plan to stay on the move for the most part. Will have 4wd vehicle. May stay 2 nights max in one area before moving on. Feel free to PM me or respond to this post.

Thanks in advance y'all!

11 mile canyon is a must same with the south platte river and the section called the dream stream. dont know what kind of vehicle you will have but be prepared for snow. also dont always trust the gps alot of mountain roads close in the winter... ask locals

highways 50 24 115 and 6 are all nice drives.

royal gorge and the arkansas river along 50 just a few things i like here

7 falls in colorado springs is an amazing place. garden of the gods also. depending on how much time you have and how far your willing to travel, mesa verde is awesome too. estes park, anything in estes. there's tons of fishing pretty much anywhere you turn. as far as public hunting, good luck. the little bit of public hunting there is around there is overcrowded.

Thanks guys. I will put your advice on my list to look at. After arriving in Denver, our plan is to mosey our way up to Yellowstone stopping whenever and wherever on the way. We may fly out of Jackson back home at the end of the trip. We have 7-10 days to sight see with a wide-open schedule.
37lbgoose, you say there's a ton of fishing... Is it public and do-able in late March?

If your going to yellowstone take I70 or hwy 14 to Steamboat springs fishing, rafting, climbing, everything, No place is prettier. And If you go to stagecoach state park talk to the park manager his name is Craig he's my Uncle. Then go north to Laramie and straight on to yellowstone.
