I wish I could spin you a good yarn and show you a line of dead waterfowl. Alas, I spent yesterday at Sportsman's Warehouse picking up my license and drooling over all the gear I can't afford.

Took my little brother (4 inches taller than me) out for the Youth Hunt on Saturday. He took 6 shots and had his limit in 3 minutes tops. A pair of mallards and 4 bwt

I've spent three mornings at Russel Lakes so far. The water is pumping out at less than half of normal, most of the ponds are dry, The big lake is really low, the green wings and cinnamons are long gone, and the DOW guys are saying that they didn't get the migrating groups the normally get. There are birds, but not many at all. It's been a struggle to eke out any birds at all after Saturday. I had WAY better results on the Pacific flyway. Hopefully the birds will start traveling soon.

Blue Wings, mallards, and redheads in the bag. No pics, but I should have snapped the sunrise this morning. It was awesome, but zero ducks even near the dekes from shooting light to 9. We jumped 4 after walking for 3 hours. :fingerhead:

I did nail a local goose while walking the dog yesterday. That was satisfying.
