Building a goose spread!

Postby jhummer7 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 4:00 pm

Alright guys. I know this is the wrong place to post this, but i value all your opinions here and wanted your input. I am putting together my first goose spread! I have done my research, and i am going with all dekota decoys. My question is about size. Yes bigger is better. But i was thinking about going with 5 dozen full bodys and 2 dozen shells. Should i get more? Or can i get away with less? Any and all help appriciated!!

I've done very well with a smaller spread as you describe(under 10 dozen),no real magic number of decoys that will work in any situation.
Some days a realistic small spread will do better than a large mixed or what is referred to as a junkyard spread and vice versa.
If you hunt traffic or the X will also make a huge difference as well.

That should work. I'd get a half dozen sleeper shells and then the rest active
