Hunting the Quinnipiac and Housie Rivers???

Postby ctduckman » Sun Oct 16, 2005 5:56 pm

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum so I thought I would help contribute and ask a TON of questions. I have just started hunting in Connecticut, but I have been hunting all of my life in Minnesota....BIG LAKES!!! I've heard some good things about the "Q" and Housie, especially late season, but I can't figure out where people are talking about or where to put a boat in. I have a 16 footer with 35 HP...and a blind on it. Preferably I would like to find a few places to hunt from shore, since I have a dog and it just makes it easier on her. I'm in Colchester, so the Sound is also accessible in a short time. Any information, or suggestions would be APPRECIATED. Also, if you have other places I should give a try, let me know. Good hunting....

Both spots are good but a lot of people. Look in the Ct DEP site and look under hunting spots and they tell you where to load in as well as a description of the place.
