Norwalk Rescue

Postby duckstruck » Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:48 am

I see two duck hunters were rescued at the Norwalk Islands.

Not sure what to think of it. Do you call them smart for being cautious and swallowing their pride and calling for help.

Or do you call them stupid (rumor has it they were out in a 16-18' mod v boat with a surface drive) for being out in that boat, in the Sound, during yesterdays winds in the first place.

Bottom line they are alive to hunt another day. We should all learn from this.

Glad they are all okay and think it is good to know when to call for help. True, they seemed to have used poor judgement in taking on the challenge of going out there in the conditions as they did. Even more so for not properly securing their vessel.

I hope they thanked the officers.
