Retriever help in Stamford CT

Postby petenice02 » Sun Nov 11, 2012 7:14 am

Hey guys, I am from toms river New Jersey. My house was flooded and caught fire during the hurricane. I received 2nd & 3rd degree burns on my arms and back. I went back into the house after being burned in fire to rescue my 3 yr old lab, who was hiding under my bed shaking. So,, Right now I am living in Stamford CT, staying with relatives. I cannot hunt due to burns. All my hunting equip is gone in fire. My dogs e-collar, dog food, everything.. I am writing this to see if there is anyone who would want to take dogs out to a field or such and let my dog do some retrieves. She is laying around house all day and we hear the geese flying over and I know its killing her not to be hunting this time of year. Any type of scenario would be good. Fields, water, woods... I am very unfamiliar with this area and I also cannot throw a bumper due to my burns. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Pete

I'd be more than willing to take your dog to my field on the 17th when my season re-opens, if you're able to handle a gun i'll buy your ct license / stamps and let you use my extra gun as well

I don't live in the area and can't help with the dog, but I am sorry to hear about this and hope that you will recover and be able to join in the outdoor fun soon. I had the privilege to spend some time in the swamp with a wounded warrior recently who lives in seaside Heights NJ one block from the ocean and as you can imagine he lost everything as well. I wish you a speedy recovery.
