what a strange season

Postby golferboy426 » Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:27 pm

today in S Windsor the swamp was about 3/4 frozen. I did not see a duck. Perhaps because of the full moon they left real early or maybe they just aren't here yet. I heard about a 1/2 dozen shots on the river. In 10 years I have never seen this few ducks

If and when it starts snowing today get your gear and go back out it. You might get a good evening shoot.

I was just out chasing pheasants. The swamp is 100 % frozen. No ducks for me

all the ducks i was seeing in western CT, seemed to have left those areas the last week. NY is still holding large numbers, but I think they are starting to move out as well. only one day left.

saw 75 or more ducks landing in a monster cornfield covered with canada geese...

might hit it tomorrow

our club land has 2 miles of corn fields , mostly harvested. I see geese drop in but have never seen a duck with them. I've always wondered why

Went out Saterday A.M. with little confidence after reading some posts. Turned out to be one of our better days. Mallards were swarming us like Bee's. The way its going for us I dont want the season to end. The Birds are definitely still around.

Haven't been out in about a week but on the shoreline there was a good amount of birds, despite being warm and nothing frozen up north yet. Not sure if I'll get back out before the weekend due to hitting a rock with my motor...now I have no forward gear  :fingerhead:

Same thing here, seeing lots of ducks. I managed to get a couple after breaking ice.
