Where are the woodies

Postby golferboy426 » Mon Apr 08, 2013 6:51 pm

Despite a successful nesting in my box last year, at the pond in back of my house I have not seen a woodie all year. In the past I always saw them, now just a mallard pair

I've been seeing alot of woodies here in Indiana. Mostly on the river and small ditches.

Here in Mass. they're been back for a couple weeks in the CT River valley area, but they just started returning in numbers to the Berkshires. At least according to my observations of the houses we have in the Berkshires.

That's a good one.

When i was out mid march working with the dog on migrating woodcock I had 4 woodies come from the trees or through into a pond I was passing. Funny thing, they landed 50 yards away while my dog was working the edge of the pond. A very small pond at that. The're here for sure.
