Tryed the lower Housatonic this morning
South South east winds 10-15 knot
over cast sky, incoming tide dead low @ 4AM
Saw very few birds what so ever
managed one drake mallard
Other guys around me ended up with a few teal, mallards,
and some geese
over all saw less the 35 ducks and 2 flocks of geese 80 birds tops
Hope everyone that got out better than me

At least it wasn't a skunker!

I really like that area alot, but late in the year it seems to be much better. Although, if there are teal around, that's a place I would like to be.....best eating fillet you can take IMO. Glad to hear you had a safe trip.

Dukhtr,

You are correct about that area being a great late season spot.
I was looking for some teal to shoot. I have not hunted down there
in about 10 years or so and it's usually a good bet you will see some teal down there. Good luck to you
