Got two Male Mallards, one female and one Black Duck. One Mallard was banded.
Had to leave early but it was a good morning. I would have liked to have stayed got my limit if possible.

Had 20 or so geese fly over as I was packing up of course.

Way to go - what a way to start the season !! A banded bird - to this day - I still have not shot a banded bird. As a hunting party we have shot a bunch, but not one by me in all my years hunting !?!?!

That made the day. I reported it and found out it was banded in N.J. on 9/30/2005.

I thought I was shooting local birds, guess not.

Nice birds man, and congrads on the band.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it must be dinner.

Ducks

I have a couple spots in Long Island Sound marshes. Its hot first thing but then most of the birds head inland to feed. Late morning I hope for the geese to start flying but they are spotty in the Sound.
