I have only seen one, and that was while I was driving along RT 8 . I have never had a shot at one while in the field.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it must be dinner.

We shoot a couple in CT every year. Last year we shot 6 in CT which is the most we have taken in this state. We hunt to the west of you. Adjacent states to CT have them. We shoot a bunch every year in NY. They are to dam skinny anyway, id take a mallard over a pin any day.

We saw a 'flock' of 4 last year on the CT river and didnt take a shot. Call me a rookie - but I couldnt identify what they were untill it was too late. I havent seen any since.

Saw a small group of them as they buzzed our spread, no time to shoot at them.
That was a two years ago on the CT River, nothing since.
Thousands on the boat.
Hundreds on decoys.
Time away from the wife....priceless

The last two years I have seen a fair amount of pintails but no shots yet. Most of the big marshes have a couple just gotta be there at the right time and when you see big flocks of mallards working your spread look for the pintails thats usually when I've seen them.
