Kayak Hunting

Postby Justbill » Mon Nov 12, 2007 8:54 am

Has anyone tried hunting around the Norwalk Islands from a kayak? I was thinking about giving it a try this year, but wanted to do a reality check first.

Done it in a 10' Aquapod launched from a tender. I only use it in calm weather out there.

Met and talked to another Aquapod hunter out by one of the islands 2 years ago.

Never saw a kayak hunter out on LIS before, but have seen non hunting kayaks on LIS.
Thousands on the boat.
Hundreds on decoys.
Time away from the wife....priceless

Never seen someone take a kayak too far from the shore line. With the wind and weather on your side you could try but take great caution. We sometimes have room on out 20ft duck boat, PM me if you are interested.

Hey Justbill,

I am thinking of going out there sometime in late Nov early December in a kayak with dog- email me @ gnjef28@charter.net if you want to tag up. I live in Windham County- I have a Wilderness 140 pungo and have brave LI Sound before.
