My usual haunts up in the NW corner seem to be void of ducks so far this late season. Was thinking of trying the CT river. Any suggestions of some good spots to try? I didn't put the big boat away for the winter yet but would rather get out in a smaller boat or canoe. Any thoughts? Thanks

The water level of the river now is at a stage that doesn't produce too well yet. There are ducks on it but I haven't scouted it too much this year. I'm kind of wondering how kings Island is working out, Have you ever hunted it? If not you need a permit, It's in enfield. Let me know if you go there.

I use to hunt Great Island with my canoe. Well protected from wind and wave action and always had action there in the skinny areas where the regular duck boats can't get into.
Thousands on the boat.
Hundreds on decoys.
