So i got myself a shotgun this year and 4 dozen decoys but have no idea what i am doing or where to go in the fairfield county area, any help would be appreciated. No one in my family hunts except me and i would really like to get started on the right foot.
The best thing I can tell you is to scout scout and scout some more use the DEP book and start there the DEP guys in the area are nice and will help you out if you ask so look around and see were the birds are starting to gather and there you go.
Also, what kind of gun?
What kind of dekes?
Got a boat or are you on foot?
Waders?
Assumed that you have a huntin' license
Federal stamp?
State stamp?
HIP Permit?
I have a benelli super black eagle, 4 dozen mallard decoys, waders, and a 17ft canoe that can attach a motor to the back. I am not looking for spots or ne thing just general advice
As Will stated above, do what we all do, scout any area that looks ducky.
Good luck
