Top 3 Things

Postby tmclaimerFL » Tue Aug 28, 2012 5:25 am

Just a fun topic to see what everyone comes up with, but what are the absolute three things or more that you always bring on the hunt with you no matter where you are going, how short or long the hunt, or any other circumstances. Mine is my wallet, gun, and shells. What about y'all?

wallet, gun and shells are given. I never leave home without toilet paper, 10mm socket wrench for the honda, and extra pull cord for those cold mornings when they snap

Wallet, phone, truck keys, boat, fully charged battery, tank full of gas, gun, ammo, motor grease, head lamp, decoys, calls, food and drinks, Copenhagen

You can't kill a duck without those things.

Agreed

I never bring paper even though I probably should. Luckily nature calls me up in the afternoons usually. I need to start carrying an emergency kit of tools and first aid too. Never thought of an extra pull cord but that should definitely be on my list this year.

Gun, shells and boat are standard. It's better to always have T.P, rather than getting caught without. , thermos full of coffee, and a sack full of snacks. Good headlamp and spotlight. Extra decoy weights and chord. Also a few basic tools for the L.T.

Great call on the pull cord!

Other than the "expected", I always have my Coleman skillet, toilet paper, and grizzly mint. I may have to lost the third one since my wife is unaware and I plan on recording some hunts this year

My girlfriend dips grizzly. That $hit is nasty. Dry as hell.
Get some Copenhagen Southern Blend. That's my new fav flavor.

I'll have to fine-tune my technique now that I'm living in a new area, but previously:
1)Mallard call
2)mojo woodducks (as many as my parents would buy me, so 7)
3)Drake camo
Without those three things, it's impossible to kill ducks in Leon county.

I mean why wouldn't you buy wood duck mojos? If they make them that means they work, just like fox urine...

Fox urine only works if you rub it on everything, mojo woodducks included, and its effectiveness is directly proportional to the amount you use...no such thing as too much. What most people don't know is that it also has health benefits and medicinal qualities...if you've tried to quit dipping in the past and failed, try coating your fingers liberally in fox urine while you're sitting in the blind waiting on the ducks to fly. One of two things will happen, you'll remember there's fox piss all over your hands and won't even consider throwing a dip in, or you'll forget...in the case of the latter, the sensory experience you'll receive will be enough to deter you from doing it again...at least for the rest of the morning. ***Doe estrus has a similar effect.
