I just got into a mess of redheads opening weekend. A couple bufleheads and some mergansers DIXIE COUNTY BABY. In my scouting I saw some spots so loaded with ducks it was crazy... need to upload pics and will do soon!

I hope you both weren't in that boat. Looks like a kayak might be more stable than that.

actually hunt 2 people out of that sneak boat regularly. i can pole it faster than any boat with a trolling motor ive been in

this wasn't opening day, this was the last day of the second phase. shot our limit of woodies, 4 drakes and two hens. Then got a nice surprise of flocks of geese migrating through, we shot 4 only found 3. when we went to go get the last one he took off running through the woods and me and my buddy ended up on a wild goose chase for 30 minutes

Was that an evening hunt? Ive never had any luck on evening hunts. Skunked ever freakin time. congrats!

Yeah it was an evening hunt, it was hit or miss in the evening for us too. We had all our success in the morning and usually just a few birds in the evening.

Nice job on that late hunt , see that you are or was a SAR swimmer , so was I , only in my day I was jumping out of a H-1 or H-3 helo , you look young so you must be a H-60 , anyway welcome to the brotherhood of navy swimmers .
