Caught a speck this season too lol

Touche. Not poking fun at you Chris, but I can't stand it when people ask me if I caught any ducks. Like Im a duck trapper, or I throw bait out and snatch em on a treble hook.

Happens to me all the time too. I said "caught" in reference to the crappie (specks).

Ended up with 329 this season, which is pretty good for us. Mostly 1-2 person hunts. Moving to south florida this year, so I'm gonna have to learn how to hunt all over again!

They are delicious...that one is going on the wall though, along with another nice mature fulvous. That mottled duck is also getting mounted.

I'm too poor to mount birds this year. Still got a buffie in my freezer that needs to be taken in.

The last time I had a bird mounted was 8 years ago, so I was due.

The delta has more snows than we do mosquitoes. Not uncommon for a group to kill 500+ in a weekend.

They're destructive too. They destroyed the main levees on one of my friends leases in a matter of days. It sucks having to set out and take up 500-1000 decoys too... But it's worth it

I went by right before I left in early January and it wasn't open. It makes me wonder if the lake will ever come back fully
