I've been thinking about doing that for a while now... just curious. What would I be looking at for an approximate start-up cost?

800 dollars this is why i think that you need Hulls New 10-25 dollars a 100, Uses 3-15 dollars a Hundred (once fired), Primers 30-50 dollars a 1000, wads 5-20 dollars a Hundred depending on model, Lead 52.00 for 25 pounds, Steel 65.00 for 40 pounds, Powder 65.00 for 4 pounds of (STEEL) and 165 for 8 pounds of (LONGSHOT) I use both with great results, Powder Scale 30.00, Powder dippers 12.50 Reloader machine Mec Steel Master or Size master what I have 200-350 depending on upgrades and model. and the ever present HAZMAT fee on all powder and primers 27.00 per order only if you but Powder or Primers so when you do buy these buy at the same time and in BULK, The key to being cheap on reloads is buying in BULK.

I reload my target and dove loads, but unless you are wanting to do something special I would say buy your steel shells. Reloading something like hevi or tungston would be a different story. I have found some nice loads using blue dot powder for the heavier pellets but start up costs can get you pretty quick.

Same here and I agree. The specialized shot will be beneficial to reload. I reload all my target and light loads but i just can't beat gettin blindsides at $17 a box.
