last to migrate and return

Postby noway » Wed Jan 07, 2004 8:54 am

a few questions. What ducks are normally the last to migrate south and what ducks are the last to leave from the deep south to head back north?

Right now in Florida, I 'm seing numerous pintails but our season closed Dec26 on thoose. These pintails wheren't around a few weeks ago and the green wings seem to all but packed up and left or moved on. Blue wings are numerous in numbers along with ringnecks.

Here in ME and NH we still have mallards, but the last to leave will be Blacks for the puddlers. Eiders (those that head to CapeCod) are the last off the ocean.
