I've scouted.
I keep hitting snooze on my license/permit/stamp renewal reminder in Outlook.
Will do that this weekend, as well as scout/fish some more.

We scouted Lake O on Thursday and never saw anything. Looks like the early season that starts next Sat might be a bust.

That sounds like a good plan based on the amount of birds I have seen and been told of word of mouth

You're crazy. Those were muscovys

These were no muscovies haha perfect pintail profile out over some marshy pasture potholes.

I can't tell if you're serious or not?.....

haha I'm serious. There are more and more cripples every year that get left behind in the migration. That, plus bird release programs has birds all over the place when "they shouldn't be there."

In other news, a buddy of mine limited out on blue wings on a lake in south ga. If you haven't seen the teal yet just get ready.

Not sure where you are located, but this seems to be the exact same thing I saw.... Curious if we're scouting the same location.

I'm in the Ft. Myers area. Saw one group of about 20 fly over me on Saturday when out working on some hog traps, saw a smaller group of 5 or so close behind them.

Talked too my dad today , over in Texas early teal open up last Saturday . Said he only got 1 where as they always limit out within a couple hours . Said they'll not here like they are every year . In Texas , they have a six bird limit this year  , here in Florida-- we have too wait next year for it to go into effect . Still going to tried this weekend anyway , can't go Saturday due to having to do a dog handler clinic I said I would do a couple of months back and didn't know it was opening day . Anyway , good luck to all , I and Jeremy (hunt-chessis) will hit it sunday .

Teal sightings?

Postby quackhunter99 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 11:30 pm

Well we had all been on the teal pretty good up here in Oxford. But from what I heard it was like last year, just not the numbers that should be there. Cool front came though 2 days ago and pushed them out. I know it's a different flyway but y'all should be getting some ducks any day now.

Scouted a small lake in northern union county last night and saw 2 small groups of bwt and one lone woody. Not the best night of scouting but its a vast inprovement fron what we've been seeing.

No Teal sightings yet for me near Orlando. I figured it would take awhile before they showed up. I was out last Thurs. gator hunting and scouting at the same time. Going out again this Friday and will look.

I found em this am with the help of a knowledgeable friend. Wish he were closer to shoot it sat.

If conditions are similar, come legal sat morning it will be tragic.
